Kids hunt down 15,000 eggs at Grandview Park during annual Easter event

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — For more than 30 years, families have gathered at Grandview Park for a very special Easter event.

This year, kids up to ten years old scrambled to nab more than 15,000 eggs filled with Easter goodies at the annual KG95 Easter egg hunt.

Candy and prizes were hidden in three different areas of Grandview Park, so hunting was fair, fast, and fun for the kiddos.

KCAU 9 spoke with an organizer about just how quickly the eggs get collected.

“It’s exactly what it is, it’s 60 to 90 seconds of pure children having fun mayhem,” Rob Powers with iHeart Media said, “I mean, we have 15,000 eggs and three different age groups, and the kids when you’re that young, all you see is the eggs and the candy and that’s exactly what they do, go crazy and that’s what it’s all about.”

A kid favorite, the Easter bunny, hopped into the festivities for photos. One lucky youngster found a magic egg which rewarded him with a new wagon to take home. That wagon was donated by Bomgaars.
