My grandma taught me a $1.78 laundry trick – it’s the best so I won’t gatekeep, it gets stains out of everything

LAUNDRY day has been transformed for one woman after her grandma taught her a trick.

She has discovered a little bar of wonder that only costs $1.78 and is the best cleaning hack.

TikTok user Mkay Heath has revealed a laundry tip shared by her grandma

It gets stains out of everything, even the most stubborn.

It was so good she refused to gatekeep and shared it with her TikTok followers.

But some fans begged Mkay Heath (@mkayheath93) to keep this life hack to herself.

“Noooo keep this a secret,” said one of them.

But she figured everyone could benefit from knowing about it.

The Zout Fels-Naptha laundry bar and stain remover is from Walmart for $1.78.

These bars of soap have been tackling the toughest of stains for over 100 years.

It removes even the most stubborn of stains, including grease, oil, wine, and sweat marks.

It does not need to be used in isolation but can be added to your normal detergent for a laundry booster, providing a deeper clean.

  • Treat hard-to-remove stains by wetting the affected area, then rub with the bar, leave for several minutes, then wash as usual
  • But it can also be used in a normal wash
  • Grate 1/16th of the bar into the washer with detergent; wash as usual.
  • But this bar can also be used in the home as a cleaning product
  • Grate the bar into hot water wherever you use your household cleaners

But some commenters wanted this soap to remain a secret – they don’t want prices to rise.

“I swear if they inflate the price of my Fels-Naptha I quit this world,” said one person.

Tip to remove yellow sweat stains

Yellow armpit stains affects everyone, whether people care to admit to it or not. But there is help at hand. To remove yellow stains from your clothing, experts recommend the following methods:

  • Baking soda paste: The pros at The Laundry Cafe recommend mixing one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with one tablespoon of salt, and ½ cup of baking soda. Apply directly to the stain with a toothbrush, rub, and let the mixture sit for at least an hour, then wash as normal.
  • Oxygen bleach: This method is just as useful for removing yellow stains. Mix one part of oxygen-based bleach with one part of ammonia in a non-metal bowl. Wear gloves during this application. Rub into the fabric with a toothbrush and allow the solution to sit for at least ten minutes before laundering as normal.
  • Stain remover or detergent: Stains on collars can be stubborn to remove as armpit stains. So pretreat the area using a solvent-based stain-removing agent or detergent. Work the product into the collar with a toothbrush and allow it to sit for at least ten minutes before washing.

“Why would you tell anyone about this? Best thing ever,” asked another person.

“Because it’s the best thing ever and I don’t gatekeep,” Mkay replied.

“It’s the only thing that works,” wrote another fan.
